I have only read the first novel and seen the first three seasons of the show BUT I think George R.R. Martin lays out that MDQ early on. Who will win the Game of Thrones? Of course, there are sub-questions of what it will cost? Will it be worth it? And so on and so forth. He is excellent at increasing tension and conflict. Just when you think you can breathe easy, he kills off a beloved character. Our youngest is a lifer in the Army and he's constantly using acronyms. Drives his dad and I bonkers in a good way. The biggest problem is our son can't understand why we can't remember all his army acronyms. Apparently the Army now has a webpage explaining. So I looked up MDQ on the net and here's some of the explanations: Mood Disorder questionnaire, Diode-Array Detection, market driven quality, AND major dramatic question!!!
Joylene Nowell Butlerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04497637513532136615noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-556528429571644528.post-73586312492546665652014-07-23T12:10:01.584-04:002014-07-23T12:10:01.584-04:00This is where I confess to never being as organize...This is where I confess to never being as organized as I'd like. I didn't know what MDQ meant - obvious when you think about it and you tell me - thank you!

Acronyms can be useful .. but sometimes a prompt is required, so that we can all follow along. A bit like reminding someone of your name - if you haven't seen them for a while and you've suddenly met up again.

I can totally see the usefulness for the MDQ one-liner - useful for many things .. a vicar was really saying the same thing to me last night - when he used to write sermons regularly (he's retired) ..

What a great post - cheers HilaryHilary Melton-Butcherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17596532480645510678noreply@blogger.com
