But getting my point, when I use my pool during the daylight hours, I often take a book along as does my daughter. I've never dropped one in the water, but it could happen. Currently, a large part of my reading is done on my eReader. I expect that percentage to only increase. So how do I read in the pool with it? I don't.
I would take it on the beach. I take it to visit my mother. I take it to ballgames and to work. I take it on overnight trips. But I don't read it in the pool. There's discussion about the demise of the paper-based book but I know there are places where an eReader just will not do. The pool, a long, sudsy bath, the hot tub...
Where do you see the paper-based book as always being needed? When do you prefer a book instead of your eReader?

I guess since I never read near water, I haven't had to abandon my eReader. However, if the battery ever drained, be good to have a real book handy.
A book is good anyplace. I used to like floating on the ocean on an inner tube with a book and a glass of cold limeade. I just don't think an eReader would contribute to the ambiance in the same way.
That is an awesome pool. I prefer books. I have a hard time sticking with one book when I have a reader in my hand with two hundred in it. I've read a lot of first chapters.

in my future book, holodisks can project images from a safe distance =)
I was going say what Tara said. You can't lend an eBook to a friend.
i have never used an ereader---nice that you have a pool!
I like reading in the bath, and I'd never take my Kindle in with me. You can always dry off a book :) I know you can get waterproof covers for eReaders now, but who really wants to test that out?

As for lending ebooks, we have three ereaders in our house and we trade readers to share books.
If I did have a pool I would probably stick my Nook in a zipper bag, and give a go.

I take my Kindle Fire everywhere, including near pools. I'll never drop it in water. I'm rarely without it as it fits in my front pocket just fine.

As for pools we made a BIG purchase this summer ... a plastic turtle pool for the kids (lol).
I'm a big ebook reader but more than location it's type of book. Reference books, do it yourself books, and such I like to have in paper form.

The lighting addition made that pool even more strikingly beautiful! Lighting plays an important role in pools, not just aesthetically speaking, but for safety purposes also. Are those LED lights? It is more convenient to use LED lights because it’s energy efficient, it can last longer and is eco-friendly as well.
