B: Blog. Blog for all you're worth. I started blogging because my editor and every promotional advice I received said to do it. So I do. And most of the time I really enjoy it. I've learned so much from other blogs. How to format my books, how to use Goodreads, review sites, and even which publishers might like my kind of books.
If I wasn't a writer, I would still follow blogs about fitness, cooking, hiking and reading. When I retire, I'm going to be even more involved in blogging. I'm not going to blog more often, three times per week, but I'm going to visit more blogs. I'm going to be a better follower.
How often do you blog when it's not A to Z? What kind of blogs do you follow? What have you learned from other bloggers? Now go visit more bloggers enjoying the A to Z Challenge.
I could spend all day blogging, but I have to limit myself to three or four times a week, otherwise I wouldn't get anything else done!
ReplyDeleteI work full time as well as writing and studying so I have to be careful where I spend my time. My studies finish in June though so I'll have more time then, I can't wait!
I tend to have quite a narrow focus when it comes to blogs, otherwise I'd have no time for anything else!

I generally blog twice a week, except for now when I'm on blogcation.
ReplyDeleteI tend to follow two kinds of blogs: the kind that teach me something new and the kind that tell interesting stories.
I love blogging and visiting other people's blogs! Really enjoying meeting new people in the A to Z challenge.
ReplyDeleteI've been rather eratic with blogging before starting the challenge. I tried to blog twice a week, but often missed my days! I have noticed more traffic when blogging more regularly though, so I'm hoping this challenge will help me to get into the habit!

I blog 3-4 times a week. I enjoy sharing my experience with books. Better to share with many than just your best friend right? But my favorite aspect about bloggin is going to other blogs so I can learn and be entertained by them.
ReplyDeleteI don't blog as much as I used to, about 1-2 times a week. But then again, now that I'm no longer the reigning 'Possum Queen and my Gnome Underground Network (G.U.N.) defeated the Hostile Polka Takeover at my blog, things have been quiet. Maybe too quiet. Hmmm.
ReplyDeleteWe are blogging a lot this month! But our blog is relatively new. How wonderful to see new work! Please visit ours at http://citymusecountrymuse2012.blogspot.com/ and please sign up to become a member if you like what you see!
ReplyDeleteI started my blog on a whim and I'm so glad I did. It introduced me to the world of writing, and I couldn't imagine my life without it now :)
ReplyDeleteI too have learned many things from reading blogs..I think the best thing was realizing the huge difference in peoples reasoning.
ReplyDeleteGood advice. The connections you make in the blogging world are so important!
ReplyDeleteI stick to reading and writing blogs, but I love the connections. Just love reading all the tips, perspectives etc.
ReplyDeleteI think what I really wish I could do more is visit other blogs! I go through phases where I have a lot of time for it, and then phases were I have almost zero time for it! The latter times are frustrating...but this community is great!
ReplyDeleteI started blogging seven years ago, and although I've waned now and then, I always come back to it.
ReplyDeleteI began because my publisher told me to get my butt online, but I'll stay long after my last book comes out. Three times a week is all I can handle - I need a day in between to recover.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth Seckman turned me onto blogging. Now I can't get enough. I try to update twice a week, but spend tons of time reading other blogs. I read everything! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm retired so I blog several times a week. I have found so many great friends on the blogs. I always leave comments when I visit, except for at the A to Z, then only on blogs I feel I can relate to.
ReplyDeleteI began blogging as a writing exercise and to help develop the habit of writing.
ReplyDeleteWhen not 'A to Z'ing, I love following blogs about fitness, movies, comic books, as well as just people's thoughts. Some of my favorite blogs are about other's day to day life.
For some odd reason, I find that sort of thing fascinating...
I attempt to blog three times a week when I'm not A to Z-ing, but some weeks that works out better than others.
ReplyDeleteI like writing blogs, or blogs about books or movies, or any site that just makes me laugh.
I LOVE blogging but find it difficult to balance reading, writing and blogging!
ReplyDeleteBlogging always seems to win! I need to do something about it.
P.S. I see you started your retirement countdown up in the corner. Yee HAAAAWW!!!!
ReplyDeleteI blog maybe twice a week- and I don't have a certain theme to my blog. Just write about whatever is going on. I like to do it, but I'm certainly no expert. I mostly like to write about life events.

I tend to blog 3-4 days a week most of the year. Usually at least one day a week is just silliness--sharing funny pics or cartoons. Usually I share a mix of writing and silliness, though I've been known to take on a serious topic now and then.
ReplyDeleteI used to blog every day, but now it flows up and down depending on what's happening in my life. But I love the community and miss people when I can't spend time to interact properly!
ReplyDeleteI love to follow random creative arts blogs - and some kooky fashion ones mixed in with the writing

I love blogging, and I don't limit myself on how, where, when and why to do it. I just go for it and let the day determine what I write about and share with the world.
ReplyDeleteI think blogging for a platform is maybe useless. But blogging to stay connected with a fantastic community definite motivates me! I have cut back both on the amount of times per week I blog and the amount I write. But I do love to visit. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm one of these naughty people that don't always blog regularly. Sometimes lots (like during this challenge), sometimes not for months (when real life gets in the way). I always enjoy it when I have the time.
ReplyDeleteI've learnt lots from other bloggers and am always e-mailing myself posts to reference - hoping to organise them a bit more using bo.lt though.
I try to blog more during April, just to keep up with all the A to Z Challenge participants, but the rest of the year it's usually about 1-3 hours per day.
ReplyDeleteThe last six months or so I have been blogging twice per week. I thought about going back up to three times, which is what they recommend for writers, but I have a hard time keeping up with comments and blog visits the more I blog, so I try to balance it.

Hope you're enjoying the Blogging from A to Z challenge. Thanks for visiting my blog today. When it's not A to Z, I try to post something on an average of once a week.
ReplyDeleteI usually only blog 3 or 4 times a week and they aren't all just me writing. I share poems and my antique photos too. Plus, my dog blogs. Yep, I'm one of those. :)

hi Susan, I blog a few times a week mostly but lately have been off-track for various reasons. I have a family history blog which is part of the vast Geneabloggers community, the Tropical Territory one (for 2013 A to Z) and a book review one.
ReplyDeleteI follow lots of FH blogs, some reading ones and also some travel and decor ones (because I like the images).
I have made many good friends especially through my family history blog.
Good questions you ask! I aim to post at least twice a week but it's usually more.
ReplyDeleteI follow all kinds of blogs. Variety is the spice of life.
I think the main thing I've learned from other bloggers is that even published writers suffer from the same insecurities about their work as the rest of us.
I started blogging not really understanding what it was all about. I have enjoyed it so much and have made some real life friends thru my blog.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting...good luck with the challenge!
I'm always shifting my focus when it comes to what blogs I follow. At the moment I'm going through a phase of trying to find local geeky bloggers and getting more involved in the local scene. No doubt it'll shift again in a month or so :)

When it's not A-Z I blog twice a week
ReplyDeleteI an really lose the hours when I'm blogging. sometimes I think it's a problem! I post once a week, sometimes twice a week. I also contribute to another blog, so I write there as well. Thanks for stopping in my blog today. :-)

Looks like you're off to a good start with this A to Z game.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're a blogger, because I like coming here.
Cheers and boogie boogie.
