Read An Ebook Week

If you don't read ebooks yet, don't you think it's about time to give in. We all love our print books, the library, the comforting scent of paper books and the feel of written and bound prose in our hands.  But if you own an ereader, Kindle, Nook, Kobo, or any other, chances are you love it too.  It's lightweight.  It holds hundreds of books and you add books to it within seconds.  You can find backlisted books by your favorite authors and discover new writers at bargain prices.

There have been ebooks nearly as long as we've had access to personal computers.  And now you can read books on your phone, laptop, tablet or other electronic devices.  To celebrate the ebook, this entire week is set aside to honor the invention and growing love of the ebook.  So from today, March 4th through the 10th, read some ebooks. Buy some ebooks. Share some ebooks.  Tell someone about ebooks.

The publisher of my romance novels, New Concepts Publishing, is one of the older, most successful ebook publishers in the field.  I love working with them. Check out their website. They've published at least one of my books every year for the last five years.  I hope to have a new series with them before the end of the year.

Do you read ebooks? What type of reader do you use? Do you think you would be delighted with ebooks five years ago or are you a new convert?

This couldn't have come at a better time! I'm just about to get stuck into my Kindle copy of CassaFire, so I'm up for this. I'm a pretty new convert to ebooks; I see that they're the way forward and I love having an ereader, but I still much prefer a hard copy.

I have quite a few books waiting on my Kindle to read that I'm eager to get to, and I keep adding more. It's so easy to just click that button on Amazon! I've found I need to intersperse ebooks with print books, because the Kindle reading doesn't have the same calming effect on me that reading a print book does.

I am so thankful for ebooks. When my girlfriend and her daughter moved into my not so tiny house I had to buy 4 new bookstands and mount another 3 on a wall just to hold MOST of their collection of books. Ain't no more room!

I totally caved and bought my first kindle yesterday. I've been a staunch traditionalist re: books and reading... but I have picked up a long commute to and from NYC recently and thought it was time to try out the e-reader. :) Just in time, apparently!

Michael, that's one of the great reasons I didn't mention. Our house is also 'out of room' for books. My oldest son has started buying nearly all his books on Kindle.
I can't wait to hear how you like it, Fairbetty. I'm betting lots of your fellow commuters ask you about it.
I'm buying CassaFire today, Jamie.
I still find a physical book a comfort too, Karen, mostly because I like to flip pages. But I also enjoy that ereader experience.

Jamie and Susan - thank you!
I'm a total convert now and I've only purchased one real book since buying my first iPad. Here's to eBooks!

E-books are amazing. I'm sure when I'm published, most of my sales will come from e-books. Even though I love the feel of a real book in my hands, I do love my Kindle. Great blog, Susan, and I can't wait to see your A-Z entries!

All I buy anymore are ebooks. I'll definitely be reading one this week.

e-books are a phenomenon. Amazing to think that just, maybe, three years ago (or less?) we didn't have them. My Kindle has been my life-saver.

I love my Kindle (though I do still buy print!) and it's holding about 270 ebooks. I need to get busy reading! :)

I'm so old-fashioned and love buying regular books. But since I'm always travelling around, maybe it's time to get a kindle so I'm not always having to lug my books around in my suitcase!

I love my Kindle. I've got my books separated by genres so I can choose what to read according to my mood. I didn't think I'd ever do it, but I love reading books off my iPod touch too - easy for late night reading! :)

I enjoy reading ebooks on my laptop. I think I'd never stop reading if I ever got an ereader!

I don't have a Kindle so I read ebooks on my pc. It's not ideal, I'd love to curl up on a sofa, but it's better than missing out :-)

I've posted for Read an Ebook Week for years but forgot about it this year.

I got my Kindle in December, and am totally smitten with it. You don't have to tell me twice to read an ebook this week!
