Today we have another great idea from a group of hosts to have some fun around the blogosphere. Today the participants in this blogfest will highlight the best and worse movie remakes. There are lots of them going on and many to chose from. For a full list and to meet our wonderful hosts, check out these famous bloggers.

I'm dealing with my daughter's wisdom tooth surgery which didn't go as smoothly for her as it did for her five older brothers. No details but if you're a parent you've probably had that image of your child falling just out of your reach so you can't catch them. So I didn't catch her when she passed out right after we got home. Anyway, movies...

It's so easy to think of some good movies that have been remade lately and I'll have to go with Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rising for the best remakes compared to those yawning earlier attempts which never had any emotional depth or psychological examination of the Batman.  I just watched The Dark Knight Rising again with my daughter today while I tried to push fluids past her numb lips.

Worst remakes are more difficult though I'm sure I'll read about lots of them around the fest. Though I didn't hate it was the most recent remake of Pride and Prejudice. Kiera Knightly is very talented but the previous version that stared Colin Firth stayed very true to the book and the stiffness of the social interactions of the day. I can't come up with anything really, really bad that I have actually seen.

Do you wonder sometimes if they'll remake some of the movies we love so much like Batman Begins and do it even better? I kind of hope not.  So go visit some more movie lovers and not so much loves. I didn't do the music bonus. Do you see any of those old Batman movies? Remember Arnie as the freeze guy? Do you think yanking out wisdom teeth is somewhat barbaric?

And thanks to everyone keeping The Marine's Queen at the top of the lists in three categories now.

Yes!! The new Batmans are so much better than the older ones.

I'm sorry to hear about your daughter.

I have to agree the new Batman trilogy is definitely a fantastic remake, especially looking at how the older ones progressed through the series (getting worse with each movie).

By the time they got to Batman IV, it was a train wreck.

When I had my wisdom teeth out I was out of it for a week. Whatever they gave me to knock me out had me in a coma...but not literally.

Hugs and chocolate,

Well, I love the old Batman with Michael Keaton but I love the new ones, too and think Christian Bale made a great Batman.

So sorry about your daughter! Hope she's feeling better today.

Didn't mind the Burton films but Nolan hit it out of the park.
Thanks for participating in our blogfest!

Definitely agree that the Nolan franchise was a million times better than those Schumacher monstrosities....great pick :)

Hmm. I gave up watching Batman movies after the first few. Maybe I should reconsider.

My baby boy managed to avoid having his wisdom teeth extracted all the way through high school and college. He says every time he's in for a cleaning, his dentist tells him they should be removed. He always puts it off. He's 37 and so far they've never bothered him. Makes me wonder.

I quite forgot that travesty of Pride & Prejudice. Keira KNightley is completely untalented and I'm sorry but did the director not read the material. Mr. Darcy was replaced by Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights.

The new Batmans are better, but I'm not the huge fan everyone else is . . .not sure if I am missing something.

Oh I love the new Batman movies. The Dark Knight is actually at the very top of my list.

I forgot about the most recent P & P remake. I was not a fan. I thought it would be too confusing for someone who hadn't read the book. To me my favorite is still the 1940 version with Olivier as Mr. Darcy.

I didn't like the first Batman movies much. I've heard Christian Bale's Batman is excellent, though. Sorry to hear about your daughter. Hopefully she gets better soon. Thanks for participating! :)

Mos def, Christopher Nolan's BATMAN trilogy is the best -- no comparison to the crud that preceded it.

I hope your daughter is ok and didn't get hurt when she fell. As for movies, I am not a Batman fan, I missed them all.

I loved the first two Batman movies with Michael Keaton, but the new ones took it to the next level. Nolan's new batman movies are instant classics!

Definitely love the new Bat-verse!

As for P&P, well I am a staunch Firth/Ehle loyalist and haven't even seen the Knightly version (and hey, I almost wrote her name as Knightfly! poor lady!). It doesn't help that I'm not a huge Knightly fan.
