G: G-2 and Other Tools

I bet some of you writers out there know what a G-2 is.  For those who don't, it's the slickest, smoothest writing pen ever.  It comes in a multitude of colors and all glide across the page with such ease one looks for reasons to write something more. I keep a G-2 beside me on my desk at all times and intend to invest in more as soon as I get to an office supply store.

Office supply stores are my weakness so I should avoid them.  They always have something cool or new on sale but they're especially dangerous during those weeks of back-to-school sales.  Spiral notebooks for half a dollar, packs of cheap pens and pencils, note cards, sticky notes and all kinds of cute, clever clips.  The temptation to stock up is beyond my powers to resist.

At the bookstore or craft store, I usually find some inexpensive journals which I already have a stack of at home.  And the craft store has reading glasses for as little as two dollars so I have to make sure I have enough pairs to have two or three in nearly every room of the house except my children's bedrooms.

Like most of you, nearly all my writing work is done on my computer.  So why do I need all those pedestrian tools like pens, notebooks and pencils? I don't know.  They're really cool though.

Do you have a fondness for any of those 'old fashion' tools of the trade? Do love cruising the aisles of the office supply stores?

LOL. I have the same obsession with you. I think it's a writer's hazard!

Same thing here. I am actually an addict so I have put myself on office supply detox....Just shaking at the thought of that pen!

I use the mitsubishi unipower tank (what? that's what it's called) which can write underwater, at below freezing temperature, and most importantly, upside down, so if you're making notes in bed with the back of the pen angled downwards, it won't stop writing. And it's surprisingly cheap.

I write my first drafts by hand and I love me a good pen. I use gel pens that glide, but I will have to check out the G-2. Seriously, a good pen can make all the difference.

I love a good pen, and a brand new notebook.

Whether it's a new pen or something else, I totally dig the "little joys" in life. :)

I need an escort whenever I go to an office supply store to ensure I do not buy out the entire pen aisle and then continue on to the notebook aisle.

I love the G-2 pens. I'm planning, actually, on writing an entire post devoted to writing utensils later on this month.

For Christmas, my granddaughter asked me for some gel pens. I had no idea what she was talking about so I stopped by the office supply store - and discovered a bizillion kinds of gel pens. Got her some and decided to try them out myself. Love 'em. (Why do the kids always find the good stuff before I do?)

I LOVE G-2's! Don't ever ask to borrow mine. Many have made that mistake....

I need a G-2 now! Great post. I love the feel of a writing utensil in my hand as I try to get something down on the page.

G-2s are cool and, like you, I'm a fan of office supply stores. It's my weakness...even the office section at Target or Walmart is fascinating.

I have to stay away from office supply stores - I end up buying a thousand things I don't need. I used to buy G-2s for my department at school as presents because we all LOVED them.

Great post! New follower from A-Z! Nice to meet you.

I love my Mr. Sharpie electric pencil sharpener. I won it in an art contest when I was 8. It has been beside me for 32 years and still going strong!

So, to that I need a pencil (with good eraser) spiral notebook, and laptop...then I'm all set!
