Focus

This weekend I finally finished all my A to Z posts for this blog. I've had them outlined but hadn't taken the time to sit at my desk and put the hours needed into scheduling them. This weekend, especially on Sunday, I made my goal and focused on it like I was working on the last chapter of the novel.

Focus is one of my strengths though I can also procrastinate like a pro. I have to feel the pressure. I wanted to get my A to Z posts completed so I could concentrate on the outline of my next novel. I always used my time running to think about my current works. This one has seen a lot of miles and I'm anxious to type those lovely words, chapter one. I know I won't get very far on it during April but even tiny progress will help me stay focused. Now that I have those posts all ready, I can focus on writing.

I still have to finish my posts on the group blog, IWSG. The group is participating in A to Z also so I hope you remember to visit. And check out the new post at IWSG today.

Hopefully today is our last snow storm of the endless winter. I'm ready to name our little bit of acreage Winterfell. If I see an ice wall growing in the back yard....

But Frozen comes out on video tomorrow so I guess I'll at least watch some snow and ice for another day. Did you do any writer related work over the weekend? Have those posts ready? Are you a focused person when working on your writing?

Happy St. Patty's Day. No green beer for our house or Irish whiskey.

Congratulations for finishing and scheduling your posts. I've made a start on mine and I'm hoping to get finished by the end of next weekend.

It's not far away now!

Congrats! Definitely smart to get those posts taken care of ahead of time. It'd be too overwhelming otherwise!

I'm good at procrastinating, so I force myself to do things ahead of schedule.
My posts are written, but I won't schedule them until the day before each post. (Kind of difficult to predict the Ninja News!)

Great work on your posts! I'm still working on mine, struggling a bit, but my goal is to get at least the first half of the alphabet done by April. I should be able to do that…I hope! :)

Fingers crossed no more snow for you!

Congrats on getting them done. I hate having things hanging over me so I just want them done, then I procrastinate haha

I hope your winter is over soon. It's overstayed its welcome way too long.

I am fairly well prepared for the A to Z this year. I need to a bit more to be absolutely ready, but I am way ahead of the game compared to last year.

You're killing me, Sue. KILLING ME! I have a list almost fully compiled of what I want to post for AtoZ, but haven't started actually scheduling them.

I'm a procrastinator to the core, but nothing motivates me like a deadline.

I worked on the environmental field day lessons and activities this weekend, but didn't get very far. Too much to do.

Plus I need to get my GMC presentation ready for our next writers' meeting in two weeks. Can I say again what an idiot I am? lol!

Congrats on getting those posts all written. That's a huge effort. And, yeah, feeling the pressure of a deadline usually lights a fire under me as well. :)

I'm about to get busy on my A-Z posts...and yeah, if I saw an ice wall forming in my yard I'd head south!

I'll be cheering all you A-Zers from the sidelines! Hope your snow melts soon.

I think I need new glasses. My focus is terrible. I've done a few posts but then get distracted.

Good for you and your diligence.

Sunshine and nice here.

Yes, focus is key, I believe. Gotta have otherwise things get too wonky.

Cheers and boogie boogie.

Congratulations on getting all those done! I didn't know IWSG was doing the A to Z. That's awesome! I can get really focused on a project which makes it very difficult for me to multi-task, or even do anything else I need to do outside of writing.

Oh my gosh you are so organised! I'm impressed, Susan.

I envy you having got all your A-Zs together so that you can focus on your writing and outline of your next novel.
I think I need to sort myself out!
Congratulations on doing this, Susan.

We've reached that time of year where pretty much everyone is OVER winter. Soon, soon. My kids have spring break next week. Time to warm up.

Good luck with outlining! And the A-to-Z.
