Happy St. Patty's Day

I'm a day early but how about an Irish blessing to get everyone started ahead of time.

When the flowers bloom, I hope you'll not sneeze,
And may you always have someone to squeeze.

How about some St. Patty's trivia.

The very first St. Patrick's Day parade was not in Ireland. It was in Boston in 1737.
Erin go Bragh translates to "Ireland forever."
St. Patrick died on March 17, 461 AD which is why we celebrate him on that date.

My best friend besides my husband has her birthday on March 17th. No, her name is not Patty but her twin sister's is. Her twin was born first so she was gifted with the Patty name.

Working and working on those A to Z posts. Theme reveal is coming up so I won't give away what I'm working on but there is science involved. Did you know that our sun makes up 99.86% of our solar system's mass? I'm finding out all kinds of things I didn't know.

Don't celebrate too hard and let me leave you with another Irish Blessing.
May your home always be too small to hold all your friends.

Will you be celebrating St. Patty's Day? Do you like green beer? Do you know anyone whose birthday is March 17th? Is your house too small to hold all your friends?

Hopefully your friend likes green.
I learned all sorts of cool things researching my Challenge theme.

I have a good friend whose birthday is tomorrow and it's also her anniversary. And she goes all out with the Irish green.

My step-daughter has a birthday on St. Patrick's Day and so does her husband (they were also born the same year). My first wedding was also on St. Paddy's Day.

Hi Susan .. my father was a Patrick - but not the 17th March .. just added a PS to my post for tomorrow - just to remember St Patty. I don't think I know anyone born on that day - but I expect I forgot ... have a lovely time - green beer or no .. cheers Hilary

No St. Patrick birthdays here or anyone I know. I do remember wearing green at school for the day not to get pinched. Sounds like an interesting them for A/Z :)

I don't think I have ever had green beer; our present house is too big for our friends; but our next house I am hoping it will be too small :)

We do a little more St. Pat than you would expect in Georgia. But it is a good day for the wearing of the green.
The A to Z is rapidly approaching and I am nowhere near where I should be. Oh well, it was fun last year and took stress out of the rough patches in life last year. So I am still looking forward to the challenge.

I've already had my Irish Soda bread and Guinness - that's about it for me.

Even though I'm not doing A-Z this year, I still love seeing what everyone else is doing. I still hope to visit around come April. :)

Never knew that about the sun. I'm 7 days late for Saint Me Day, but I still use it lol

Science, yay! Yes, I did know that, because learning about space is awesome and the sun is huge. And I don't like beer, green or otherwise :P. I'll celebrate Saint Patrick's Day some other way.

I bought a corned beef brisket and fixings yesterday. It's become my St Pat's Day tradition and we'll be eating on it over the next few days.

I announced my A to Z theme for Tossing It Out yesterday and will do my Wrote By Rote announcement this Saturday. Working on posts now.

I love Irish sayings for their wit and wisdom. Irish Soda Bread is my downfall, lol
Happy St. Pat's!

I don't think I have much of the Irish in me, but the tiny bit that may be there would sure love some of Lee's corned beef and cabbage.

You're invited! I'm getting ready to put it in the crockpot. Dinner will be ready at about 4 PM.

Wow! I did not know that the first St Patrick's Day parade was in Boston. Who would have thought? We learn something new every day. :)

Hope you had a great day and a good weekend coming up. Wow, the sun is really big!

Naturally I'm arriving AFTER St. Patrick's Day. I did wear green yesterday, but I can't say I did anything "special."

Looking forward to your theme reveal. I have a feeling we're all going to learn something new every day here in April.
