Time again for the first of the month blog hop with Insecure Writer's Support Group. Thank you to our founder, Alex J. Cavanaugh, and all the IWSG admins. Time to share our insecurities and support each other in this difficult business of being a writer.
Firstly, I hope you'll stop in and comment on my guest post on the IWSG blog page titled:
Planning a Conference: A Big Job and an Adventure
This month's optional question:
If for one day you could be anyone or *thing* in the world, what would it be? Describe, tell why, and any themes, goals, or values they/it inspire in you.
Well, I would absolutely be Superman. If I could be Superman, there would be world peace and a lot of bad things would stop happening. Now, if the answer has to be someone or something that really exists, I think I would like to be the smartest, best hacker in the world. I would go after all those scammers stealing from regular folks. But since I can't be either of those things, I would just like to be the best person I can. I would like to be have more patience, be kinder, and a better person overall. I'm trying.
I'm so busy getting ready for that Pennwriters Annual Conference. We have so many awesome writers ready to share their expertise. It is a great weekend.
I'm also working on setting up some book signing events for the coming year. So far, I only have two on the schedule, but I'm hoping for more.
Please, please warm up soon. I have no tolerance for even chilly days and I want to walk outside.
I'm excited to see Daredevil coming back to Disney. Hope they did a good job. I watched Night Agent and didn't like it as well as the first season. The end of the first season seemed to end with the good guys on top. This season didn't feel that way even though they stopped the attack.
Would you like to be Superman? It would be a lot of responsibility. Are you attending or running any book events in the coming months? Are the days getting warmer in your neck of the woods?

Good answer! Yes, I'd love to wave a magic wand and fix everything. If only. That said, like you, I just keep trying to be a better person. Spring will be here soon! I too yearn to walk but talk myself out of it when it is cold, or as of late, icy.
I like your answer to this month's question. Good luck with all the work of planning your conference. And I'm looking forward to warmer weather too. It's finally getting into the high 30's and 40's here. Even that feels much warmer after our bitter cold winter.
Or be a hacker and expose some people who seem to have gotten away with their crimes.
It should be warm in time for the conference.
Hacking sounds like an achievable goal ;-)

I'm sure you're already the best person you can be. I get that impression anyway. Good luck with your events and the conference. Exciting times coming up.
I like being me.
Here's hoping Daredevil is good!
We have gorgeous weather here. Trying to spend a lot of time outside before it heats up.
We're re-watching the first season of The Night Agent. I'd heard Season 2 wasn't as good so we're prepared for that when we get to it
Good luck with all the conference planning!.
Hmm. Superman, heh? I'd be confused by the double identity. I have enough trouble keeping track of one. :-)
Superman or anything that could fly would be nice. But just being the best of who I can be is a lofty goal and that sounds like a very good thing and more realistic.
Lee
Superman or hacker seem like awesome people to be, still chilly here but getting brighter, no signings, but polishing for proof reading.
What a good answer! I think most people would want to stop a lot of the crooked shenanigans going on in this world if we could.
I felt the same about Night Agent, season 2 - I enjoyed it, but... it wasn't as good as the first, and that last episode - grr. I even knew that was the worst way to handle that potential poison problem and I'm not the engineer in the family. But Daredevil will hopefully be good. And I always felt like Superman would be a lot of work.
Hope it gets warm there soon!
Hi, Susan! I'm seeing a theme as I visit around. People would like to be someone who could fix the sad state our world, like Superman, but since they can't they're working on being the best people they can be. Kudos to you! Fortunately, I'm basking in tropical sunshine right now. My husband and I were able to flee the miserable winter weather. I hope it warms up for you asap. Take care!
Good answers! I love tech so becoming the smartest, best hacker in the world pulls me in also, though someone has already taken that title! Glad to hear about Night Agent. I've been eyeing that, a little suspiciously. I might give it a pass.
Hi, Susan! I guess google ate my comment. 😂 I love your response to the question. Good luck with your conference, and I hope your area warms up soon.
The Pennwriters Annual Conference sounds exciting! It must be a lot of work getting everything together, but what an amazing opportunity for writers to come together and learn from each other. I hope you get a chance to enjoy it as much as you are preparing for it!
As for book signings, it's awesome that you have some lined up for the year. I hope you get plenty more on your schedule!
And yes, definitely, warm up soon! I’m right there with you, eagerly waiting for those sunny days that make outdoor walks enjoyable again.
Looking forward to seeing Daredevil return as well! Hopefully, they do a great job with it. And it’s interesting to hear your thoughts on Night Agent—sometimes the second season just doesn’t hit the same, right?
I hope you are having a great weekend. You are invited to read my new post: https://www.melodyjacob.com/2025/03/the-breathtaking-adventures-we-had-in-glencoe.html Thank you.
Hi,
I too have no pleasure in chilly, wet, cold days. I'm waiting for 25 degrees Celsius to come. Have a good time at your conference..
