Happy Summer Solstice

The Summer Solstice is celebrated all around the world. Where I live the exact time for the solstice to arrive is at 6;34 PM. The daylight will last for 15 hours, 5 minutes and 40 seconds. The longest day in another summer that seems really short. Events are flying by. And today is the Full Strawberry Moon.

Yesterday, Father's Day came and went really fast. Two of the sons took their dad golfing at the Hershey Country Club. It was a fun day for my dear husband. My sister visited last week, the reason I'm so behind visiting blogs, and now I won't see her for another year. We have the best time together and stay up late every night talking. My daughter is leaving for Morocco on Wednesday so the house will be a little quieter and a lot more empty.

Not much writing was accomplished last week but I hope to make up for it this week. I'm going to be optimistic about it. This article tells me my life will be better if I'm optimistic.

Recent events really reminded me how mean social media can be. Good thing I'm not famous or people might be attacking every little thought I have on Twitter.
"Words are like bees: They have honey and a sting." German proverb

Lots of writers seem to love coffee, chocolate and wine, but not necessarily in that order. There are many great things about coffee but it really can kill you. A lethal dose of caffeine can be imbibed by drinking somewhere between 50 and 200 cups of joe rapidly. So you need to be careful in your writing cave and spread your 50 cups out over the entire day.

Ribs are almost better and ankle is much improved. Back doing some walking today, just a little slower. Still not trying the jogging and still am watching every step. Just glad to be moving again. The pool is warm and perfect so I'm happy there.

Are you having an optimistic week? Can you imagine 50 cups of coffee in one day? How much is too much for you? Are you spending some time enjoying the longest day today?

At the summer solstice people gather around the stones at Stonhege here in the UK.
I only have two cups of coffee a day, the rest I drink is water. I hope that's not harmful...lol.
Have a good day Sysan.

Have a good Strawberry moon day ... we're under thick cloud and lots of rain - just what one needs for the longest day of the year ... glad the ribs and ankle are slowly improving ... cheers Hilary

Glad to hear your ribs and ankle are doing better, to the point where you can move a little again. That's fantastic news, for sure! And as someone who's never been a fan of coffee, I definitely can't imagine drinking fifty cups of it in one day. LOL.

Not doing anything special but attending exercise class this afternoon plus my Stand up to Falls seminar. Glad your ribs and ankle are better. Friend has broken her ankle and is very unhappy about it. I drink decaf so I should be OK. Although I drink a lot of coffee, I don't think even I could manage 50 cups.

At least they proved coffee doesn't cause cancer. Can yo imagine drinking that much at once though? I'd think you would jitter yourself to death.

Love the Minion pic! :)

I only drink 2 cups of hot coffee OR 1 medium iced coffee daily. After that, it's pretty much water, seltzer or unsweetened iced green/white tea.

I'm glad it's the longest day because I have a lot to do. :)

I am going to relish this day until 2:30. Then the kids are out for summer! Oh boy. Bye, bye quiet writing time. Sniff. But it is high time for me to learn how to set boundaries anyway and figure out how to work with people in the house.

Coffee? Never tasted the stuff. In college I was addicted to Diet Coke and drank so much I stopped sleeping. So I switched to caffeine free sodas and years later switched to water. Now chocolate on the other hand . . . how much of that can you eat before keeling over?

It is the longest day today, isn't it? I'll enjoy the extra sunshine.
Good thing I don't drink coffee.

Still 24hrs right? Guess I'll do the same haha good things are healing. Optimistic? I can do that with a pessimistic spin.

I can't imagine drinking that much coffee. Three cups is just enough for me! I saw a picture of the Strawberry Moon someone posted from Prescott; it was a very unusual phenomenon; not one I remember seeing before. Glad you had a great visit with your sister. I would imagine unfortunately it could take a few more months to feel completely healed from your fall.

I try to be optimistic even in my most pessimistic moods. I enjoy coffee but I could never deal with 50 cups. After my recent heart scare I've cut back caffeine consumption considerably.

My weekend wasn't the best due to a hospital stay and I'm still recovering. Thankfully, I don't have to worry about the day job until Thursday, but not sure I'll have the energy to write. I foresee lots of napping for me.

HA! I like my coffee very hot, so I think I am safe from that much that fast. I had a weekend of wrestling the cable company... now to see if I won or not... some of it was "we can't do it until Monday.

I tap out at two cups. And glad to hear you're on the mend.

Can't imagine 50 cups of coffee; but I've been known to down a six pack of diet pepsi in a day. It was a very long, tedious day . ..

Glad you're healing, and feeling optimistic. I try to stay optimistic . . with or without wine and diet soda :)

One big cup of coffee per day or I get the shakes. Glad you are healing!

I can handle four cups of caffeinated coffee if I get them in before noon. That caffeine is what keeps me optimistic! :D

The daughter's off to Morocco now? I don't know how she does it! :) And I guess it's called the Strawberry Moon because it's peak strawberry season. I've certainly been enjoying that.

I'm having a fairly optimistic week. I'm alive and I'm not addicted to coffee, so that's always a plus. Not so much the caffeine I'm worried about. I just don't want brown teeth.

That's awesome that your daughter is heading to Morocco. I'm envious of her adventurous travels.

I'm having a good week since I'm getting some writing time. :) I'm not a coffee drinker, but I can eat 50 chocolates if you leave me alone with a bag!

I know coffee can kill...but I happily take the risk LOL

Wishing you a great weekend :)

I admit to relying heavily on coffee in the morning. Usually I avoid it the rest of the day--as for chocolate and wine, I don't have a lot but I sure enjoy it when I do!!!

Looking for the serendipity and the bright side in situations can help with almost anything. Stick to one or two cups of coffee a day is my recommendation.
