Taking the World by Storm

It is storming here today.  Tomorrow is the official release day of CassaStorm, third and final book in Alex Cavanaugh's bestselling space opera. Prizes and fun abound. As part of the fun, I asked Alex one question and he promised an honest answer.

Me: if you were given the opportunity to leave Earth and travel to other worlds, would you go for it?

Alex:  Sadly, I’m just not that adventurous. And I hate to fly. It would have to be really safe before I’d just jump on a spaceship and head into space.

A storm gathers across the galaxy…

Commanding the Cassan base on Tgren, Byron thought he’d put the days of battle behind him. As a galaxy-wide war encroaches upon the desert planet, Byron’s ideal life is threatened and he’s caught between the Tgrens and the Cassans.

After enemy ships attack the desert planet, Byron discovers another battle within his own family. The declaration of war between all ten races triggers nightmares in his son, threatening to destroy the boy’s mind.

Meanwhile the ancient alien ship is transmitting a code that might signal the end of all life in the galaxy. And the mysterious probe that almost destroyed Tgren twenty years ago could return. As his world begins to crumble, Byron suspects a connection. The storm is about to break, and Byron is caught in the middle…

“CassaStorM is a touching and mesmerizing space opera full of action and emotion with strong characters and a cosmic mystery.” – Edi’s Book Lighhouse

"Cavanaugh makes world building on the galactic scale look easy. The stakes affect the entire known universe and yet Cavanaugh makes it intensely personal for our hero. The final installment of this series will break your heart and put it back together."

Thanks, Susan! Yes, I'm a wimp when it comes to adventure.

I guess we'll have to send mini-Alex. Good luck with the big week ahead.

I'd leave the earth. Congrats, Alex!

Funny how authors have that great sense of adventure while writing, but would not live the life style of their characters. I would never traverse a wormhole if I had the chance.

Congratulations, Alex! It sounds like a great book, set in another galaxy, but with hints of our own world. I'd leave for another planet as long as I had a way of getting back!

Congrats Alex! Here I thought you'd be the first one to jump on a rocket ship. Who knew???

I've seen Alex's name mentioned once or twice today ... :-)

I wouldn't travel to an unknown planet either, not even for the guarantee of a huge sum of money...

Honest answer! I'd love to get on a spaceship but I'm with Alex, I'd have to know it was extremely safe before I did.

Very good question and I didn't expect Alex's answer. Perhaps he could send mini-Alex.

Don't worry Alex, I'm pretty non-adventurous, too :)

Great question, Susan!

Yay, Alex! Imagination enough to write your books seems to be adventure enough! Works for me!

Congrats, Alex! I shy away from a lot of adventure myself. I need to travel more...even though it won't be to other planets. There's plenty here left to explore. :)

That's a good question. I might go, but only if Hubby went with and we'd be back in time to walk the pups before bed.
